GAST Solar Mechanics plc is located in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and named after “GAST TECHNOLOGY”. The word “Solar Mechanics” stands for the inspiration of the owner and establisher of the company and the Mechanical Engineering applications of the company’s target.
Since its establishment, the business has been steadily increasing and expanding the business to LP Gas lines supply and installation, electromechanical contracting (especially in Heating Ventilation Air conditioning and Refrigeration systems (HVACR) and waterproofing application.

GAST Solar Mechanics P.L.C. is agent of Henkel Polybit Industries. Henkel Polybit is a leading manufacturer of waterproofing products and allied construction chemicals. Since its inception, a decade ago, Henkel Polybit has burgeoned into a successful organization, which believes in creating quality products that are effective solution available to its customers at the best cost result ratio.

Initially a Bitumen membrane manufacturer, Henkel Polybit today has a comprehensive range of products that include a wide range of waterproofing materials, sealants and concrete related.
GAST Solar Mechanics now provides various Electromechanical Products and supplies them to its customers nationwide. The Electromechanical giant is now producing LP Gas in Ethiopia to solve the very low supply of the product and to save the foreign currency going out of our mother land.

The Electomechanical giant, GAST Solar Mechanics plc is located in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and named after “GAST TECHNOLOGY”. The word “Solar Mechanics” stands for the inspiration of the owner and establisher of the company and the Mechanical Engineering applications of the company’s target.

The Owner of the company, Getachew Assefa, started a workshop that was a home-based business created for the sole purpose of producing; marketing, installing and maintaining solar water heaters.

Getachew Assefa is a young Mechanical Engineer who was inspired by the idea of establishing a business of producing Solar Water heaters. During his studies at the University, he was involved in a project that gave him a first hand experience in the principles of Solar Water Heaters (SWH) and the manufacturing steps required. After finalizing the design of one model of the SWH unit, he purchased a few hand tools and managed to produce and sell the first unit in July 2000, with an initial investment of about ETB 20,000.00 that was loaned to him by an individual successfully paid back. Now the company operates at a total capital of ETB above 10,000,000.

GAST Solar Mechanics plc has been registered with the government since July 2001. Accordingly, the applicable government taxes are being paid in regular bases.
